Principal's Message

 

 

Having a shared history with an established centenarian school, Desheng School is steeped in the culture of striving for excellence and providing exceptional education for the young. Catching the wave of globalization and the increasingly digitised world, Desheng School started the International Education Division in 2001, aiming to meet the needs of students who aspire to enter top universities around the world. With far-sighted policies and quality staffing, the division has achieved much success on many fronts, attaining Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE) registration in 2014 and IB World Status in 2015.

 

 

 

As an IB World school, Desheng School (International) or DSI’s mission is to nurture students into future Scholars, Leaders and Global Citizens, who embrace diversity – comfortable in their cultures; yet, respecting of others’. Our core values: Respect, Integrity, Self-Discipline and Excellence (RISE), align with the IB education philosophy. Many different subjects, such as Mathematics, Economics, Business and Music, are offered, catering to students with different talents and needs. We also offer signature programmes like Student Leadership, Model United Nations, Local and Overseas Experiencial Programme, Service Learning, together with other sports, arts and music programmes, which are very popular among students and parents. Currently, we are designing courses like Chinese Law, History and Literature. All this will help to foster international-mindedness.

 

 

 

Starting from 2018, we are honoured to have Dr. Hon Chiew Weng, former principal of Hwa Chong Institution in Singapore, as our education consultant. With Dr. Hon’s experience and expertise, DSI will definitely flourish under his guidance. We also have over 70 quality teachers from 13 different countries, including US, Singapore, Malaysia, India, Nigeria, Mauritius, Kenya, South Africa, and the Philippines, who are experienced in teaching IGCSE, IBDP, AP or A-Level, out of which 8 are certified IB examiners. Quality and diversity are key attributes of the DSI Team.

 

 

 

Over the years, DSI has gained recognition from international counterparts, and established partnership with established schools around the world, such as Hwa Chong Institution in Singapore, University of Toronto in Canada and University of California in the US. Our students have also achieved excellent results and many of them are either studying at, or have received offers from, top universities in the world, such as Oxford University, Imperial College London, University College London, Hong Kong University, Berklee College of Music, Nanyang Technological University, University of Toronto, New York University, and many more.

校长的话

 

德胜学校延续百年名校的教育历史，一如既往地追求卓越，培养一代又一代青年才俊。面对二十一世纪全球化和智能时代的到来，德胜学校于2011年成立国际部，为有志就读国际名校的学子提供纯粹的国际课程。经过我们的努力，在短短两年内取得剑桥IGCSE和IBDP办学资格认证。

 

作为一所IB国际学校，德胜国际部致力于培养具有国际视野，理解及尊重多元文化，富有人文主义精神的学者、领袖和环球公民。为了更好地达成IB国际课程的教育目标，德胜国际部以“尊重、正直、自律、卓越思维”作为学校核心价值观，根据学生天赋与特长，开设高级数学、经济、商科、艺术等不同的课程以供选择，我们还创办了富有特色的领袖课程、模拟联合国课程、海内外研学、服务社会及各类运动、美术和音乐等辅助课程，这些课程深受社会各界以及学生家长欢迎。与此同时，我们还努力打造双语双文化教育环境，开设中国法律、历史等课程，让学生领悟中西文化的精髓。

 

2018年，我们有幸邀请新加坡华侨中学原校长潘兆荣博士担任国际部的教育总监，他丰富的教育经验必将为国际部的发展注入新动力。当然，国际部还汇聚了来自美国、新加坡、马来西亚、菲律宾等13个国家和地区的70多名教学精英，他们都有IGCSE、IBDP、AP或是A-Level等课程的教学经验或学习经验，其中8名是IBDP国际考试的考官。高学历、精英化和多元化成为德胜国际部教师团队一张亮丽的名片。

 

多年来，德胜国际部先进的发展理念，得到国际同行的认可，先后与新加坡华侨中学、多伦多大学、加州大学等名校缔结友好合作关系。我们的毕业生也成绩斐然，先后获得牛津大学、帝国理工学院、伦敦大学学院、香港大学、伯克利音乐学院、新加坡南洋理工大学、多伦多大学、纽约大学等世界前50名的名校录取。
